The study of the interrelationships between organisms and their environment.

Description

It is the study of life histories, distribution, and behavior of species as well as the structure and function of the natural environment systems; and the interaction between species and the environment.

Why is ecology important?

Ecology enables a better understanding organisms and their environment; and the human impacts thereon. This knowledge enables the protection of the environment.
