National Water Act Definition

Water Management Area (WMA) is an area established as a management unit in the National Water Resource Strategy within which a Catchment Management Agency will conduct the protection, use, development, conservation, management and control of water resources in South Africa.

Why are WMAs  important?

WMA are the geographical areas within which water resource management will take place in South Africa.
