Definition

A geological formation with voids or pore spaces within the porous texture that can hold water or permit water movement.

Description

A porous formation that contains sufficient saturated permeable material to store and/or transmit water.

Why is a porous aquifer important?

A storage medium from which groundwater can be abstracted.
