Definition Flow at velocities in which the stream lines become non-parallel and momentum becomes chaotically distributed. Description The type of flow in which the motion at any point varies rapidly in direction and magnitude. Why is turbulent flow important? Darcy's Law can no longer be applied when turbulent flow prevails. Turbulent flow may be important at high pumping rates and major fracture flow.
