A groundwater body that has been delineated or grouped into a single significant water resource based on one or more characteristics that are similar across that unit.

Description

Smallest groundwater unit considered and is demarcated on the basis of homogeneous response unit.

Why is a groundwater resource unit important?

Reserve determinations are required for groundwater resource units and they need to be protected, used, developed, conserved, managed and controlled.
