Definition Water flow in which the stream lines remain distinct and in which the flow direction remains approximately parallel without cross currents and eddies. Description A smooth flow at relatively slow velocity, characteristic of the movement of groundwater. Darcy's Law can be applied when laminar flow predominates. Why is laminar flow important?
