Stakeholder Engagement, underpinned by effective administrative support, is key
to the successful implementation of the Strategy. Communication, sharing of
information and engagement between members of the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), Strategy Steering Committee (SSC) and Professional Services Provider (PSP) structures
are vital.
The logistics and arrangements of the (SSC) and other
related meetings are taking place. Invitations are distributed to the SSC Members
together with a response sheet, an agenda as well as the relevant documents to
be discussed at the meetings. Minutes of meetings are distributed to the SSC members
within two (2) weeks of each meeting.
Directly involved stakeholders are informed about the Study and its progress at the
SSC Meetings. Several other sectors of stakeholders (agriculture, industry,
local government, domestic users) are informed and engaged in the Study. The
following activities are planned to keep stakeholders informed:
Progress/Status Reports: Three (3) Progress Reports and one Status Report have been
compiled and distributed to all the stakeholders to keep them abreast of the
progress made with the maintenance and implementation of the Strategy.
Media Releases were prepared to inform stakeholders of the maintenance
and implementation of the Strategy.
