This audience includes the Department of Forestry, Fishery and Environment, the Department of Public Works, the Department of Human Settlements,
the Department of Basic Education, and the Department of Health.
These departments are important because they can help or hinder the implementation of the FSM strategy.
Desired behaviours for this audience to adopt:
- Be aware of the FSM strategy and share information to advance the needs of society
- Normalise water and sanitation topics in the public discourse
- Identify opportunities and make linkages to support the implementation of the FSM strategy
- Be aware of how they can help or hinder FSM.
By following these behaviours, this audience can:
- Fulfil people's rights as outlined in Section 24 of the Constitution and SDGs
- Ensure the success of DWS, as it is dependent on the success of everyone in the system
- Avoid risks associated with poor sanitation e.g. environmental pollution, disease outbreaks
- Assist with overcoming the indignity and embarrassment of poor sanitation
- Ensure the provision of equitable sanitation to others.
