WHY DO WE PLANT TREES |
|
- Trees provide shade for humans, houses, animals, birds, and
smaller trees or shrubs and reduce evaporation of water from soil by the sun
- Trees can create a pleasant and beautiful environment
- Trees help to conserve energy
- Trees help to reduce air pollution
- Trees protect the soil and water
- Trees can create wildlife habitats
- Trees are necessary for wind reduction and control
- The roots of trees help bind the soil and reduce soil erosion
- Trees are grown to produce timber for future use such as furniture, building material, poles and paper
- Trees supply oxygen that we breathe and they take in carbon dioxide which we do not need
- Trees provide food for domestic animals (goats, cows,
donkeys) and wild animals (giraffes, impalas, elephants, etc).
Humans also eat fruits from the trees
- Trees are used for firewood which is used for cooking and heating
in winter
- Many indigenous trees are used as medicine to cure diseases.
