What does this dashboard relate to:
The Municipal Water Tariff Dashboard provides the user with tariffs charged by respective municipalities country-wide. The dashboard also provides the trends on tariffs charged in order to allow users an opportunity to monitor the tariff increases/ decreases. The dashboard must also provide information pertaining to Water Services Institutions that are complying as well as those that are not complying with the prescripts of the Water Services Act as prescribed under the Section 10 Regulations.

What type/s of questions does the information product aim to answer:
The information product aims to answer the whole question of whether municipalities are adhering to the principles of tariffing when determining the tariff. The questions of fairness; equity and affordability must be addressed. There are also norms and standards prescribed in the Section 10 Regulations of the Water Services Act that which Water Services Institutions need to adhere to in the tariff determination process.

What data is used?
The data is obtained from water service database from the water services business unit. The calculations are automated in the database to determine the compliance to the Cost-Reflective requirements.

How is it extracted and from where?
The data is extracted directly into the NIWIS from the Water Services database using stored procedure.

How often is it extracted?
The data will be extracted on an annual basis based on the 12 months period.
