Development of the Reconciliation Strategy
The primary function of the Study Steering Committee (SSC) was to provide
guidance for the development of the Reconciliation Strategy for the Olifants
River Water Supply System and to make sure that the various sectors in the study
area are participating in its development.
The SSC was formed in May 2010 and guided the Reconciliation Strategy development
until it’s completion in 2012. This Committee had representatives from all
provincial government departments involved in water resources management,
conservation organisations, agriculture, District and Local Municipalities in
the study area, Water Boards and Water User Associations as well as the DWS
National and Limpopo and Mpumalanga Regional Offices.
