Water quality monitoring sites grouped by primary drainage region
Links to Department of Water and Sanitation legacy data
These links are an interim means of accessing DWS data.
- Choose the appropriate link to view the sites in a drainage region:
- Google Earth links require Google Earth for viewing.
- Plain tables are text and work on just about any browser.
- Data choices are in the second row of the table header:
- Icon markers: Mark sites according to type (Google Earth opens with all sites selected ■).
- Maucha markers: Places Maucha
ionic marker symbols at each site (Google Earth opens with no sites selected □).
- Boreholes: Thousands of borehole sites (Google Earth opens with no sites selected □).
Note that spring and eye sites are in the surface water lists.
- The Google Earth KMZ files are time-enabled: if a site is not visible, it may have starting and ending dates outside the date range set in the time slider at the top of the Google Earth display.
Double-click on the menu item to show all available dates or move the slider and its limit bars to show sites that were active within a time window.
Click on the slider spanner for other options.
Note that selecting and unselecting check boxes in the GE table of contents sometimes resets the time range.
